The scope of this testing is to detect all the external or inside defects, measure the material thickness, measure the distance and dimensions of the defects.<\/p>\n<p>The most common UT application is inspection on welding field, sheets, forged products and other composed materials.In the last years, a lot of important development of new techniques have been introduced to ameliorate the sensibility and increase the defect detection.<\/p>\n<p>To support the traditional method a new technology with PHASED ARRAY and TOFD has been introduced.Phased Array: Can allow us to have a best sensitivity; optimize times due to a high speed scan obtaining multiple corners with only one probe.<\/p>\n<p>Using scanner and encoder is possible to record the testing that become semi-automatic with several advantages for the results and for the permanent report.TOFD \u2013 This testing technique is commonly used for welding inspection.
